All skiers under 21 are encouraged to apply. We accept applications throughout the year, so please send yours in. The Jordan Chiovarelli Grant Initiative looks to provide funding through a scholarship grant to young people who compete, have a passion and love for freestyle skiing, so they have a better chance to achieve their dreams. Each year, the JCF will look to give these scholarship grant awards of up to $1,500 to five skiers, to support their training and participation in freestyle events.
To apply, simply answer the following questions to the best of your ability, and attach letters and comments of recommendation from your coaches, trainers, sponsors and mentors. Please include all contact information for both you and your recommenders (i.e. name, address, phone, email, club affiliation, etc).
- When did you start your freestyle career and what made you decide to get into the sport?
- Tell us about your first competition?
- What inspires you daily?
- Why is freestyle skiing important in your life?
- How will you use your participation in freestyle skiing to help others?
- How will your grant funding be used? (Please be as specific as possible, e.g. entry fees, travel expenses, training, etc).
- How long have you known ________, and why do you feel this skier deserves a grant?
- How has the applicant demonstrated a commitment to freestyle skiing?
- Please explain how the applicant embodies the drive for excellence, a passion for fun and friendship, and a commitment to helping others?
- Please share your thoughts, and site specific examples how he or she has demonstrated sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.
- Does the applicant demonstrate a financial need to realize his or her goals?
