The Jordan Chiovarelli Foundation Coach of the Year Award wants to acknowledge the coach/trainer, who most inspires the Freestyle athlete to be the best he or she can be, and promotes great sportsmanship amongst the athletes. This individual is someone who exemplifies leadership, concern and interest for the athlete beyond just winning, and is always there for the team. A scholarship grant of up to $2,000 will be offered to these individuals. Coaches can be nominated by athletes, fellow coaches and parents, USSA ski employees, and anyone affiliated with Freestyle skiing.
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Be a member of a sanctioned USSA club or ski team
- Have a commitment to excellence and sportsmanship in freestyle skiing
- Thrive on helping younger athletes reach their potential
- The scholarship grant can be used by the Coach towards improving their skills and education to help in the overall development and growth of his/her skiers.
- The grant can also be used to offset the expenses needed for travel and living expenses to competitions, training equipment expenses, and for their personal improvement.
Anyone in the freestyle ski community may nominate a coach to receive the award. Please answer the following questions (in 500 words or less). Nominations are accepted throughout the year.

- Why do you feel this person deserves recognition as Coach of the Year? Please site examples.
- Please explain using examples or personal experiences about how this individual motivated your growth or the growth of the team and what has he/she has done to promote sportsmanship amongst the athletes.
- How has this coach personally helped you?
- How will the grant be used? (Please be as specific as possible, e.g. training seminars, travel expenses, etc.).
